When the pandemic first hit Malaysia in March 2020, society struggled to deal and navigate the unprecedented challenges. One of the many industries impacted, was the education sector, which had to make some major changes to adapt to the situation and enable online learning. This was a challenge by itself, and a big change and transition for educators and students alike.
The BAC Education Group adopted new technologies to help ensure a smooth transition to online learning and to provide a stable e-learning infrastructure, which would ease the transition and user experience for lecturers and students. This includes the launch of a student support helpline, e-learning softwares like Kahoot, Slido, and Prezzi to support online classes, class authoring tools to help develop more engaging learning content, and the development of several capabilities to help support webinars and e-events. Having accomplished this in March 2020 alone, the BAC Education Group was bracing itself to take on other challenges brought on by the pandemic.
Over the months, BAC slowly adopted other technological services to boost their education quality and to provide students with a seamless online learning experience.
These services allow more engagement and interaction between the lecturers and the students. Furthermore, the gamification services that were incorporated, makes students’ learning experience more exciting and less stressful.
To date, BAC has expanded the e-learning team by 200% to manage the 13 learning platforms under the Group, which act as the learning and communication hub for our students during this pandemic. More than 100 videos are produced by the team on a daily basis to support students’ learning, all of which are then securely backed up in a server that houses close to 80TB of content thus far.
Despite the challenges proposed by this raging pandemic, the BAC Education Group has adapted, thrived, and successfully managed to provide top-notch education, once again proving that BAC is the fastest and smartest!
