On Wednesday, 26th August 2020, Veritas University College organised a free webinar entitled Digital Transformation: Improve Your Bottom Line. The guest speakers for the day were influential business leaders and successful entrepreneurs – Mr. Ashran Dato’ Ghazi (CEO, Dattel), Mr. Gerald Fernandez (Co-founder, 3Quantum Consultancy & TAPRO (Talent Acquisition Professionals) and Mr. Raja Singham (Co-founder and Managing Director, BAC Education).
Valuable insights were shared on how businesses have been adapting towards a more digital environment since the Movement Control Order was announced locally.
Attendees were mainly business owners who were interested to learn how to digitally transform themselves to become more relevant especially during the pandemic. According to Mr. Gerald Fernandez, being successful at this transformation means realising that it is actually about people transformation – or workforce transformation – rather than focusing solely on technology.
In this regard, the BAC Education Group has pioneered several initiatives such as Project DEEP, BAClearn, and giveBACk.my, to assist in nation-building to help boost the Malaysian economy. Mr. Raja Singham went on to highlight the importance of 3E’s when it comes to digital transformation:
- Employment: reduce unemployment by providing new job opportunities.
- Entrepreneurship: create more entrepreneurs because entrepreneurs create new jobs.
- Education: educate to solve the digital gap in order to fulfill the above.
“Learning something new out of your own specialisation is something that is underestimated by many people”, said Mr. Raja Singham. Quoting Charles Darwin,“It is not the strongest of the species that survives or the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change,” he added.
The session ended with a brief Q&A session where participants had the opportunity to connect with guest speakers on current trends in digital transformation.
