Personal branding is what people say about you when you are not in the room – Jeff Bezos
Following this quote, Ms.Kayatthri got the attendees typing away in the chat box as she asked them several questions about themselves and their understanding of branding. She then assured everyone present, that a solid year on LinkedIn would be able to boost their personal and professional branding and recognition.
According to Ms.Kayatthri, regardless of whether it is a professional or personal account, with over 1000 connections on LinkedIn, any individual’s engagement rates, will skyrocket. In order to reach this goal, there needs to be a plan, a strategy. Clarity, Content, Consistency.
She went on to inform the attendees, that a LinkedIn profile is a like a huge marketing funnel relating to; awareness, consideration and decision making. A profile headline is the most crucial part of one’s branding and awareness. She advised the attendees to get creative with their profiles and interact as much as possible, to increase their engagement rates and connections.
Moving on to the second level, Ms.Kayatthri thoroughly dived into the field of connecting with the right digital audience on LinkedIn. She said that the point of connecting on LinkedIn was not like in Facebook or Instagram. The point is not to make friends, but to make business connections that will benefit both parties involved. She then went on to talk about the importance of creating and curating content for profiles, and how that can help build connections, adopt employee advocacy, convey personal stories, and show people who you are. The content produced may not only help others but also has the power to positively convey one’s thoughts and beliefs without creating conflict. Therefore, she advised everyone to be mindful of the kind of content they put out on LinkedIn or any social media platform for that matter.
Upon completing her presentation, a brief Q&A session naturally took place as the attendees enthusiastically bombarded Ms.Kayatthri with relevant questions. The session was filled with friendly banter, insightful information, and engaging discussions. It was time put to good use for everyone who attended.
