“Winning has never been on my mind so when they announced I won third, I was on cloud 9,” shared Natalie. “I never felt this happy before.”

“I’m an over-thinker and sometimes too many thoughts bother me so I decided to write those thoughts down and turn it into a script which was later made into a video for one of my assignments in scriptwriting class,” shared Natalie on her inspiration behind her short film.

“I made this video last year for my script writing assignment,” said the 19-year-old film student. “Early this year, my lecturer, Mr. Azizul, told me about this competition and said I should send it in since it matched the theme so I did.”

According to Natalie, it took about a week to make the short film, which included filming and editing.

According to IACT Broadcasting lecturer Mr Azizul Rahman, the purpose of having Feijee Natalie participate in the FiTA Wave Awards 2021 competition was to encourage IACT students to participate in various local and international competitions. Aside from that, this would also improve the skills and techniques in terms of story-telling and video production by IACT students by reaching the industrial quality or standard. Natalie’s win also shows that IACT College provides good creative industry programmes such as Diploma in Broadcasting and Film.

Besides IACT College, there were various participants from different institutions participating in various categories who attended the Awards livestream. The judges who decided the winners were well-established producers and filmmakers in the industry. Special guest Tuan Zakaria Abdul Hamid, the Chairman of FINAS was also present.

The awards ceremony was organised by Faculty of Film, Theatre and Animation (FITA) University Technology MARA (UITM), and sponsored by Hasanah Foundation and National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS). The awards ceremony was broadcasted live on FiTA TV Youtube channel.
