Twenty students from IACT College experienced photography and digital imaging at a photo walk recently in a unique collaboration with Panasonic Lumix, Malaysia. The walk allowed students to immerse in real-time photographic experience. Students currently pursuing their Diploma in either Broadcasting and Film or Event Communication, participated in a photo walk sponsored by Panasonic Malaysia from Pasar Seni, KL to Sasana Kijang, Tunku Abdul Rahman Monument, Dataran Merdeka, and Petaling Street; celebrating the eccentricities of street life and unique landscape of Kuala Lumpur.
Students and lecturers were also given the opportunity to use Panasonic Malaysia camera and lenses for one day during the trip – allowing students to experience the relevance and authentic industry-based learning in the photography and videography area.
“I hope this learning experience will prepare our graduates to bring value to those that acquire professional services from this cohort of students,” said Timothy Chan, Head of Academics, IACT College.
All photos captured will be submitted as the students’ second assignment, making this exercise truly an assignment to remember. The photo walk took 5 hours of walking around the place under the supervision and guidance from Ms Ain’Syafiqah (subject lecturer), Mr Timothy Chan (Head of Academic), Mr Cliff Pek (Panasonic Malaysia) and Mr Wong Seng (Panasonic Malaysia).
