News Production – Jessica Lynn IACT Alumna Visits Scriptwriting for TV Class

On 29 June 2021, Tuesday, a knowledge sharing session on the news production and reporting industry was held during a class called Scriptwriting for TV on Microsoft Teams from 10.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. The sharing was presented by IACT alumna and news anchor for SMNI News Malaysia, Jessica Lynn Henry.


Jessica Lynn Henry, alumna of IACT College, visits the ‘Scriptwriting for TV’ class to share her experience in the news production industry.


Jessica Lynn spoke of her experience in the news production industry thus far, as being part of the broadcast industry. She also shared on the nature of the news industry, the processes of news production, as well as tips and guides on how to become a news anchor or correspondent. She also shared about the production she works for, SMNI News Malaysia and SMNI News International, which was from SMNI News from the Philippines.

31 students from Diploma in Broadcasting and Film (DIBF) attended the session during their Scriptwriting for TV class. The session was insightful and engaging for the students as they learnt more about the news production industry. 


“This session was an initial project for more collaborations in the future,” said class lecturer Mr. Azizul Rahman. “I plan to collaborate with SMNI News Malaysia for a News Production project in April 2022.”
