The workshop’s objective was to develop student’s skills in the fundamentals of photography. It also demonstrated how students can take up photography from an entrepreneur’s point of view, such as how to earn income from photography. Students learned about light, color, composition and moments for the best shot. These of course are governed by exposure which in turn is controlled by the photographer’s choice of aperture, shutter speed, and ISO on their camera. It was an intensive 8 hour workshop to sharpen the photography skill of students who may already have some knowledge of the subject.

120 students aged between 19 to 21 years old from both IACT College and Reliance College attended the workshop. Also attending were Mr. Timothy, Head of Academic for IACT College as the moderator; the lecturers Ms. Ain and Ms. Fatin; the Academic Admin team, Ms. Yante, Mr. Amin and Ms. Hasanah; and Mr. Firhad from the BACLearn team.

The participants had an awesome experience throughout the session. The trainer, Mr. Cliff showed himself to be very knowledgeable in the subject matter and he delicately introduced photography to the eager beginners in a way that it was easy to understand. He generously shared his vast experience in the industry and some of his gorgeous work, much to the students’ awe and admiration. “I like how we were given a lot of examples so it was easier to grasp all the information being given,” shared Natasha Ann Miranda, IACT Diploma in Mass Communication student.  “While it’s nice to learn the basics and the how-to’s, it’s much better learning from someone who has experienced it all before,” shared Chuah Xin Loong, IACT student studying BA (Hons) Media, Culture and Communication.
