The Novice Arbitration Moot Competition (NAMCO), was organised by NAMCO Management LLP and was held on the 12th of November till the 15th of November 2020. The event was hosted virtually, via Zoom.
The BAC Mooting Society selected three teams to participate in this competition. All 3 teams made it through the preliminary rounds, but lost in the Octo-Final rounds. The purpose of this event was to allow law students to practise their mooting skills, to learn a new area of the law, and to build networks.
An impressive total of 80 arbitrators were present at the event and there were 32 competing teams, each team comprising of 2-3 participants.
NAMCO collaborated with Taylor’s University, Haemelaw, Richard Wee Chambers, Ormond The Chow Kit, and AIAC for this event. These collaboration earned the competition wide recognition and extra support, making the event a complete success.
The event was very well organised and everything played out smoothly. The three teams expressed their satisfaction and their desire to participate in more moot competitions like this, in the near future. It was fun and knowledgeable experience for everyone involved.
