BAC Performing Arts Club Holds BAC’s First Virtual Charity Concert, MCONCERT

Communities around the world often turn to music in times of crisis – from playing musical instruments to singing from balconies and rooftops of apartments, music has become more necessary than usual during this period of social distancing and self-quarantine at home.

Given the healing power of music, the BAC Performing Arts Club decided to band together and organize our very own virtual charity concert!

The concert featuring mainly students from the BAC Education Group and guest performers went live on Friday, 8th May 2020 via Zoom with over 100 viewers including students and staff from the BAC Education Group.

Close to fifteen performances were lined up for the evening. The opening act was a dance performance by guest performers, Bee Jing & Ying Yu, popularly known as “7-in-1 Crew” followed by Yuna who performed her own version of Ronan Keating’s “When You Say Nothing At All”.

A host of other amazing song and dance performances by BAC and IACT students, Sandreeka, Jing Ru and duo Joe & Joey (with their “Say so X lover boy Mashup”) kept the momentum going. Special performances by Samantha on her piano and Sarjeen with his original song, Sunrise, wowed the viewers!

The 2-hour concert was to raise funds in support of various charitable causes during the COVID-19 pandemic under our new fundraising platform, GiveBack.my.

“The concert was a success with a good turnout and an amazing show by the performers. Special thanks to BAC and the BAC Performing Arts Club (BACPAC) Committee for an outstanding job in planning and hosting our first-ever virtual charity concert,” said Stephan Brian Dass, President of the BAC Performing Arts Club.

“Regardless of where we may be or where we are from, we can always stay connected and help out by giving back during these difficult times. This virtual concert was definitely one for the books!”, he added.

It sure seems like the viewers couldn’t agree more, as seen from the feedback below:
