Fundtastic Day by IACT’s The New NRML – Fundraising for Feed the Poor programme

On 27 March 2021, from 10am to 2pm, an online livestream event titled “Fundtastic Day” was held on The New NRML Facebook page by students of IACT College. The online livestream event was held in collaboration with and (Persatuan Kebajikan Dan Sosial Selangor Dan Kuala Lumpur) to raise funds for their Feed the Poor programme. This latest batch of IACT Mass Communication and Professional Communication students carried out the event in conjunction with their module, Serving Our Society.



Hosted by students Quenton Chang and Elmyra Fhana, the Fundtastic Day livestream which began at 10am included a line-up of performances hand-picked and presented by various teams. The first team to start the day off was Jam Spread hosted by Yuki Teh and Eldeena Sephia, with their selection of performers singer Ili Ruzanna, dancer Yogashree, and drummer Jin Yuan. The second team, Team Pan Mee hosted by Dephyn and Emily, presented a performance by talented singer Natasha Sass. The third team Hungry for Change hosted by Denisha and Adreanna presented Vishal Chopra, an award-winning music artist covering popular songs with his own electrifying twist. The fourth team, Team Amigos hosted by Victoria, presented dance performances by Team Struggle and Dynamix Studio. The next team to present their line-up was Team Wasabi, hosted by Premi and Haydee with performances by pianist Jowin Goh and dice stacker Khoo Yih Kai.

After a short break, Team Sleepers hosted by Suki and Erica presented their line-up of performers pianist Ian Boo, singer Ophelia Chua accompanied by guitarist Yong Euzoe, and vocalist Nayli Hanida. After that, Team Makan presented soul and rock performances by musicians Abshar and Ameem & Aafee respectively. Following that was Geng Bas Sekolah, hosted by Caleb and Kerwin, with performances from musicians Caleb and Adrian, a pantomime performance by Faith Foo, and another musical performance by AinxHadi. Next, Team Chimken Peperoni hosted by Mabel Sim and Jared Chew, presented a diablo performace by Marco Chong. The last team Virtual Strangers closed the show with performances from singers Amanda Jane and Simon Peter. Fundtastic Day finally came to a close at 2pm.

The livestream had managed to attract many viewers and garnered funds of up to more than RM2.8k for and’s Feed the Poor programme. The participating class of Diploma in Mass Communication and Diploma in Professional Communication students enjoyed hosting the show. It was an enjoyable time for both students and viewers alike.


Funds raised post-livestream on
