Reliance College Student Council Organise CNY Celebration To Usher In The Year Of The Rat!

Chinese New Year (CNY) is one of the largest celebrations in our multicultural nation. To usher in the Year of The Rat, members of the Reliance College Student Council organised a CNY get-together among students, lecturers and administrative staff of Reliance College.

Yee Sang consists of strips of raw fish, mixed with shredded vegetables and a variety of sauces and condiments. Toss it high (and make a mess) for more prosperity, health and wealth!

On Wednesday, 5th of February 2020, the entire fraternity of Reliance College gathered at the KL Campus, Multi-purpose Hall for a day of celebration and gratitude. Among the highlights during this year’s celebration were the Yee Sang Tossing Ceremony, toasting to another year of prosperity, wealth and health which was followed by a buffet lunch spread. There were also booths set up by the Student Council featuring fun and exciting games to raise funds for future events.

This year’s CNY celebration was attended by 150 students and 29 staff. It was a great opportunity for everyone to relax in a cordial environment and learn a thing or two about the Chinese culture while embracing the importance of tolerance to continue living in peace and harmony in a multiracial country.
